Comments: Overlong (Q3) mid vowels are significantly higher than short mid vowels; this is why they overlong vowels are treated differently than in North Estonian and assigned phonemic status. Long (Q2) vowels are not distinct from short vowels in quality; depending on the analysis, their occurence can be explained prosodically or segmentally. Same applies to consonant length.
